The Two Faces of War and Iraq

The President of the United States spent half of the 2003 State of the Union address on foreign policy, in which declassified intelligence regarding Iraq were addressed. Since the address, many nations have gone public about their support of the United States of America and declassified similar intelligence regarding Iraq. The President of the United States told Americans, "as a people of freedom and liberty" we are at a momentous time in history to save and liberate Iraq. It is just a matter for those individuals in the minority to decide whether they have the desire, the energy, and the deep conviction to fight for liberty and freedom, to back our men and women in the armed services, and to stand by our President and Commander In Chief.

Minority of people are unable to see the connection between terrorists and dictorships. These people feel there is no threat to freedom and liberty. Intelligence indicates that Iraq is actively thwarting the work of the U.N. Monitoring, Verification, and Inspection Commission by acquiring equipment for the production of weapons of mass destruction and has offered no evidence that it destroyed the weapons it already has.

The Secretary of State also offered stronger and more detailed declassified intelligence to the U.N. Security Council and the world. The President of the United States and his administration have offered a case on Iraq in a manner and style that has not been done before by compromising our intelligence sources and community to appease the naive and complacent. "The call of history has come to the right country," and the final count down has begun for "The dictator of Iraq is not disarming. To the contrary, he is deceiving," President of the United States added.

France and Germany continuously argue for more time for U.N. Monitoring, Verification, and Inspection Commission in the face of 17 United Nations Security Council resolutions. All have had poor results. In return, the dictator of Iraq has shown the world his "utter contempt for the United Nations," President of the United States said. America shall move ahead with like minded nations even without the U.N. the President of the United States said, also "the United States does not depend on the decisions of others. I will defend the freedom and security of the American people." The President of the United States also urged citizens of Iraq to realize that America is not the enemy; rather, "Your enemy is running your country." He assured the American people that we are fighting "man made evil of terrorism" to protect Americans at home through the Department of Homeland Security, a missile defense system, and a "terrorist threat integration center." With a robust and properly funded Department of Defense, the President of the United States presents an excellent plan.

The 2003 State of the Union address made the case for Iraq and the Secretary of State built upon that case. Even so, if one was to choose to go beyond the 2003 State of the Union address, put their self interest aside, put away their own personal feelings, and put together all the intelligence regarding Iraq, a case was made along time ago.
