United States Missing Servicemen and North Korea

The United States has suspended its efforts to recover the remains of missing servicemen in North Korea. North Korea has made the conditions no longer feasible for the recovery teams to conduct their operations by 1) not allowing any form of communication system to operate between the recovery teams and 2) the millions of dollars North Korea charges the United States to conduct each recovery operation. Hundreds of United States servicemen remains have been recovered. Even so, there are about 8,000 United States servicemen classed as missing in North Korea which many experts view as recoverable.
